Overview :  The Jammu and Kashmir Medicinal Plants Introduction Centre (JKMPIC) is a pioneering institution dedicated to the cultivation of important indigenous medicinal plants and the introduction of various species from other parts of the world. Location and Scale of Operations Jammu and Kashmir Medicinal Plants Introduction Centre- JKMPIC is situated in Jammu and Kashmir, specifically at “Ginkgo House”, A-370, Nambalbal, Pampore, Pulwama, Kashmir. 192121. The center operates on a scale of 5 acres, which includes a garden that houses a vast collection of medicinal plants.

Collection and Conservation Efforts The center boasts Kashmir’s largest privately owned collection of medicinal plants, encompassing over 300 varieties. This includes rare and endemic species that have been traditionally used for healing, health, and beauty by local communities for thousands of years.

The garden serves as a treasure trove for herbal remedies, with all plants being carefully conserved for future generations.

Research and Development In addition to cultivation efforts, JKMPIC has established a tissue culture lab within its premises. This lab is responsible for propagating and distributing rare medicinal plants as part of its conservation initiatives. Product Availability :  JKMPIC offers a wide range of planting materials including tree saplings, herb seeds, flower seeds, fruit plants, creepers & climbers, medicinal herbs, herbal roots, crude drugs, bulbs, tree bark products, herbal teas, corms, rhizomes, stem tubers & root tubers as well as aromatic plants. Seeds from various crops are available for purchase through contract sales or local retail channels such as farmers’ markets.
