Ginkgo seeds

Ginkgo House
The Jammu and Kashmir Medicinal Plants Introduction Centrewas established under the  Fruit & Medicinal plants Development Project during the year 2020-2011.  The infrastructure, existing as on date, was created over a period of 5-10 years.  The Ginkgo plantation was started during the year 2001-2004.  The main thrust of the programme was to develop Ginkgo plantation of  improved cultivars.

Cultivars/Varieties
'Autumn Gold' (perhaps Autumn Gold™) - This male (non-fruiting) selection is common in the trade and notable for its symmetrical crown that is broad and rounded. The mature size is 50' tall with a 30' spread and fall color is an excellent deep yellow.
'Jade Butterfly' - An unusual dwarf, slow-growing form, this plant has bright green leaves and a mature height that is less than half that of standard forms. It's an introduction out of New Zealand that is gaining popularity.
'Magyar' - An introduction that is gaining momentum in the trade, this plant is a non-fruiting male with upright, ascending branching to 60' tall and half as wide. It is well-suited to urban planting as a street tree.
'Pendula' (also listed as f. pendula) - Plants listed under this name are quite variable, with few expressing a strong weeping habit. Most bear branches that are horizontal or droop slightly
'PNI 2720' (Princeton Sentry®) - A very popular non-fruiting male form, this form assumes an upright habit that tapers to the point. It reaches 60' tall, but only 25' wide.
'Saratoga' - Commonly offered, this plant has a strong central leader and an upright, narrow habit (40' tall and 30' tall).
'Variegata' - Many different clones are offered under this name, but most feature leaves that are irregularly streaked with yellow.

Black Walnut-juglans nigra cultivation in Kashmir

Bot. name: juglans nigra
Black walnut logs bring premium prices, and have since the 1700s, with single trees bringing up to $20,000 (INR 1393170.08). Bruce Thompson, author of “Black Walnut For Profit,” estimates a mature stand of black walnut trees can bring about $100,000 (INR 1435.57) per acre in timber value alone.
Black Walnut seeds Kashmir

Black walnut. Walnut trees, like chestnuts, produce a double income, as the nuts can be harvested as the trees are growing to harvestable size for timber. Growers often call black walnut a “legacy tree” because it takes about 30 years to reach it’s prime harvesting size of about 16 inches or so for a veneer log. Along the way, the walnut stand can be thinned to provide income, but the real payoff comes at harvest, as veneer logs bring between $4,000 (INR 278634.02) and $5,000 (INR 348292.52) each. An average stand of black walnut is 250 trees per acre, or $125,000 (INR 8707313.01) at harvest time, quite a legacy for the kids or grandkids!

Nettle tea benefits and health issues

Stinging nettle root/leaf is also used for joint ailments, as a diuretic, and as an astringent.
In manufacturing, stinging nettle extract is used as an ingredient in hair and skin products. Stinging nettle leaf has a long history of use. It was used primarily as a diuretic and laxative in ancient Greek times.

Nettle tea has long been touted as great for weight loss and good health. Nettle tea is efficient for the removal of unnecessary toxins from the body. It is also known to feed the cells of the body which results in decreases in cravings.

Stinging nettle root is also used for joint ailments, as a diuretic, and as an astringent. Stinging nettle above ground parts are used along with large amounts of fluids in so-called “irrigation therapy” for urinary tract infections (UTI), urinary tract inflammation, and kidney stones (nephrolithiasis).

In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties,
stinging nettle is a diuretic, and both of these characteristics make it a good candidate for prostate issues, including prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which share some of the same urinary tract symptoms.

Stinging Nettle, DHT, SHBG and Free Testosterone. ... Yet again though, the studies on humans do not show any increase in free testosterone levels so any effect stinging nettle has on SHBG is too small to see a benefit as far as testosterone goes.

Using stinging nettle is one of the oldest treatments for combating hair loss. Stinging nettle capsules and tea can be consumed to treat hair loss internally while a good scalp massage using nettle oil combats hair loss effectively.

In a scientific study of patients with acute arthritis, stewed stinging nettle leaves enhanced the anti-inflammatory effect of diclofenac, an NSAID. Although this effect can reduce pain, talk to your doctor before taking or using stinging nettle if you also take NSAIDs.

Low blood pressure: Stinging nettle above ground parts might lower blood pressure. In theory, stinging nettle might increase the risk of blood pressure dropping too low in people prone to low blood pressure. If you have low blood pressure, discuss stinging nettle with your healthcare provider before starting it.

ginkgo biloba cultivation/seeds of ginkgo tree

Ginkgo tree
Ginkgo is easily raised from seeds, which retain their vitality for some months. Female plants may be
obtained by grafting. It is easily transplanted, even when of a large size.

Trees of over 40 feet high have been successfully moved. It thrives in deep, well-drained, rich soil. It is useful for planting in towns, as it is free from the attacks of insects and fungi; and the hard leathery leaves resist the smoke of cities. It may also be freely pruned.

It is of course best propagated by seed; but layers and cuttings may be employed in certain
cases.

Ginkgo biloba has been proven to improve short-term memory, alleviate allergies, relieve
depression, alertness and boost circulation.  Ginkgo, which dates back 270 million years, has long been grown for its leaf, which is dried and processed into powders, pills and teas.
