Dandelions are used for medicinal purposes. The leaves, stems, flowers, and roots contain beneficial constituents. Dandelions have been used traditionally to treat:
Gastric disorders, Renal disorders, Hepatic disorders, Diabetes, Cancer, Infections.

Dandelions are also rich in vitamins A and C, calcium, iron, and magnesium. They are often used as a seasoning on salads.

However, some people may be allergic to dandelions. Allergic reactions may be more likely in people who are allergic to related plants such as ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, and daisies. Dandelion sap contains latex, so anyone allergic to latex should also avoid handling fresh dandelions.

Pepitas seeds

A pumpkin seed, also known in North America as a pepita (from the Mexican Spanish: pepita de calabaza, "little seed of squash"), is the edible seed of a pumpkin or certain other cultivars of squash.

Pepitas and pumpkin seeds seem so similar, you might think they are the same thing. But while they are not exactly the same, they are closely related. Pumpkin seeds are whole seeds with their shells still on, whereas pepitas are found in shell-less, or hulless pumpkin varieties

willow trees in kashmir

Aspirin willow trees

It grows in many parts of south and southeastern Asia, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kashmir, Laos,China and Thailand,. In Manipur, in NE India, the new flowers of Indian willow, locally known as ঊযুম (ooyum) are eaten, and are considered delicious. In Maharashtra, this tree is called walunj.
Willow has been a standard tree grown in Kashmir valley for ages and a staple feeder for the indigenous Willow industry indulging in willow furniture making and the ubiquitous Willow bat used in the cricket world. It was only in the later half of 19th century with the advent of British and the game of cricket in India

The active ingredient in willow bark is salicin, but the accompanying flavonoids and plant particles might be part of what make willow bark effective. For this reason, some people prefer to actually chew on the unprocessed bark of the willow tree. It is difficult to determine how much salicin you are getting from each piece of bark, so this method of consumption should be approached with caution.

Willow bark tea: Some health food stores sell willow bark tea, showing it as a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory. Steep willow bark tea for two to three minutes in hot water. When consuming willow bark in this form, it’s hard to tell how much salicin you are getting in each serving of tea.

Aspirin (Acetylsalicylic Acid): Originally derived from the willow tree’s barkaspirin is one of the most widely used medications globally.
